And that’s how you transition from an “Activism” themed edition to a sex one – and possibly how you can approach a particular someone. There’s probably a couple hundred other ways you can get close to that someone if this doesn’t work for you, but regardless of what works, there’s one thing you need to validate (and prelude) those advancements – and that’s called consent.
It’s the line between sensual play and sexual assault, between pleasure and pain, between what is mutual and what is unshared. There is a very real need for this conversation, considering we’re surrounded by unhelpful, unhealthy messages across various sections of society that sometimes pierce through our social circles – and poisons everyone in the process. I shall spare you examples of such messages, but what I do want is for us to have this discussion, because its implications have the power to fracture the integrity of society, but have just as much power to mend these fissures. Ultimately, it ought to maintain, raise awareness and protect one’s right to consent and govern their own body.
This edition explores this area in greater depth. We’ll be raising concerns, issues and topics thought to be taboo, uncomfortable, or embarrassing. But before we get to the good stuff…
